Management Change Announcement
Erik de Man will join our board as Chief Technology Officer on July 1st, 2025. Erik brings 28 years of industry experience, including 15 years deep expertise in offshore wind, with a strong track record in engineering, project execution, and strategic leadership.
Erik joins us from EOS Maritime, where he was a Founding Partner and Technical Director, providing end-to-end support for offshore wind projects worldwide. His experience includes key roles at EDF Renouvelables, Jan De Nul Group, Enbridge, and several others, contributing to major offshore developments across Europe and Asia.
After 4.5 years, including more than 3 years as Business Development Director, Marcelo Werneck has decided to continue his career elsewhere. Marcelo’s last working day at GBM Works will be June 20th, 2025. His duties will be transferred to Hein van Opstal. Hein, an experienced serial entrepreneur, will focus on developing strategic partnerships to successfully market our silent installation method for offshore foundations. Over the past 3 years, Hein has led all development projects within GBM Works.
We would like to thank Marcelo for his enormous energy and perseverance in introducing GBM Works and its innovations to wind farm developers and contractors. In our opinion, Marcelo has achieved something remarkable. We will miss him.
We are excited about what lies ahead. With the addition of Erik and Hein in his new role, their expertise and leadership, we expect to make significant progress as scale up and consolidate our role as a trusted partner in offshore foundation installation.
GBM Works
GBM Works was founded in 2016 as a spin-off from TU Delft. Its mission is to provide the installation market for offshore foundations with quieter installation methods and has recently demonstrated the effective operation at sea of its Vibrojet® concept on a full scale. With Vibrojet®, monopile foundations will be installed for Ecowende at the Hollandse Kust West wind farm early next year.
